Today’s quote:

.

“It’s always me against me!” – Coach Scott

 .
Today’s workout is 100% related to the quote today.  When you doing burpees for 15 minutes straight, it is only you against you.  This is how it should be in your day to day life.  Whether you are a business owner, work for a company, a student, stay at home mom/dad, you name it, it’s for everyone.  We are in an age where comparing ourselves to others is at such a high rate.  This is not a new thing], its just easier to compare ourselves because we are able to see what someone is doing on Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat.
.
The art of comparing ourselves with others comes from fear.  Fear we aren’t good enough, successful enough, doing the right thing for personal and business.  This all comes from self doubt and with this our insecurities surface.
.
I have conversations like this with my athletes and online clients on a regular basis.  This fear is so strong that it effects us all and there are only two options: Swimming in the self doubt or Get as far as you can!  The problem is that when we doubt ourselves or feel bad about ourselves we let it linger rather than do something about it.  One of my biggest insecurities was school and feeling smart enough.  It was around 8th grade I was diagnosed with a learning disability.  I never saw this as a disability, I just knew I was going to have to work a little harder than everyone else.  The reason I didn’t go to college after high school was because I didn’t feel like I was smart enough.  Now looking back, that was just a lie.  I am very pleased how everything turned out.  After high school I spent 3 years in the United States Navy, then attended Seattle Pacific University with a bachelors in Exercise Science.
.
The thing I learn the most out of that decision I made about not going to college was, I was always smart enough, it just wasn’t my time.  Instead of wallowing in my sorrows on how stupid I was, I still had a game plan rather than just be sad.  Rather than focus on all the kids studying for that SAT’s and stressing out what college they were going to.  Now don’t get me wrong, I did have a moment or two of panic but I quickly learned there was no value worrying about them.
.
When we can focus more of what we are doing and less on others, we will be a lot more happy.  We have talked about this before but the people we are comparing ourselves with don’t even have a clue what we are doing, so why are we worried about them.  Having the mindset of “It’s ALWAYS me against me”, there will be a confidence that comes from that.
.
If you are thinking I’m saying don’t look at others trends (business or personal), I’m not saying that.  What I am saying is, don’t get stuck not moving because you are worried about what others are doing, have or just are.  You are you for a reason and you are a BADASS and have everything it takes to be successful, lose that weight, get that boyfriend or girl friend, start that new job, wear that cool sweat shirt, get that awesome hair cut, etc.
.
Remember, have your own style and character.  There is no one like you, so go be awesome and be that BADASS you were designed to be!
.

Our Daily 3 Pillars:

Fitness (15 minutes): We will use HIIT (hight intensity interval training) as our vehicle to increase our fitness and get a better bang for our buck.  Don’t be surprised when results start showing up faster than normal.
Quiet time (5 minutes): Some call this meditation, prayer time or times of gratitude.  This is where we pause from all the rat racing and allow for peace to enter.
Personal Investment (10 minutes): Personal development.  This is you investing in you.  Whether its reading, listening to a podcast, listening or sitting a reading a book (I’ll list a few of my favorites below).
