Congratulation on completing Day 23!
Welcome to Day 24.
.
We are officially into Day 21 of our 28 Day LIVE Training Session and I couldn’t be more excited having you be a part of it. If you missed Day 1, no worries, simply go back and start at the beginning. Don’t feel you have to rush through the day(s) missed, take your time and get it done.
.
Today’s quote:
.
“Shoot for the moon, because even if you miss, you’ll land in the stars.” – Les Brown
.
Having direction and purpose is so important if we desire to be successful. Just like knowing where we are driving when we are headed to a specific destination. When we go through the motions and have zero direction, we tend to get lost which makes a lot of sense if you think about it. This is easy to spot from the outside looking in but not so much when we are that person living life without direction or purpose. When that person doesn’t have any direction they tend to not progress nor grow in any part of their life, until a purpose arises. When this occurs and there is little movement there tends to be a feeling of satisfaction rather than drive to progress. It’s a comfortable feeling being unhappy. This doesn’t mean it’s the most healthiest though.
.
Fear of failure is sometimes a barrier for anyone to grow. When someone is comfortable in their current situation, there appears to be no need to get out of that scenario. However, there may be a desire but there is such a huge fear of failure that that person makes the decision to not pursue anything outside of their comfort zone. This is a real scary place to be because when you are here, the next thing you realize, 5-20 years have past and you are stuck.
.
But this isn’t how it has to be. Pursuing your dreams and risking failure is so worth it. When you decide to get out of your comfort zone and pursue something scary, you grow in so many ways. You grow a little more comfortable being uncomfortable. When you weigh the risk and know that if and when you achieve that goal, it will pay back ten folds, then give that dream/goal the green light. The key word here is pursuing. When you pursue you are becoming a better version of you.
.
There was motivational speaker talking (I think it was Les Brown) about fear and how the things we fear rarely ever comes true. The things we fear, rarely ever comes true. Isn’t that crazy? The things that consume our brain the most (assuming we are thinking non-stop about failing) never even happens. At first this makes no sense but the more I understand how the brain works, the more is does make sense. You see, whatever we focus on the most our brain registers it as the “MOST IMPORTANT THING” in life. Think about it, the more you think/stress/obsess over something, the more your brain deems as numero uno!
.
This is where your and my goals become so dynamically and incredibly possible of becoming true! Want to lose weight? Focus like crazy on making that happen! Want to start a new business because you hate your current job? Focus like crazy on making that happen! Want to be the BEST dad, mom, significant other, friend, sibling, coach, teacher or (FILL IN THE BLANK)? Focus like crazy on making that happen!
.
When this is our direction and purpose, nothing can derail us. If something derails us, either 1) we weren’t really that focused on it or 2) same answers as the previous answer. This a very simple thing to map out but a very hard thing to do, only because we live in a world of people with different destination and purposes. One new theory I am fully experimenting on is the idea of changing ones environment. For example, if one wants to lose weight, starting a new diet isn’t going to be the answer. This is a great step to weight loss but isn’t the primary change. A great example is meal prepping. If you tend to eat out or eat whatever on the fly, slowing your environment down and start making ALL your meals, this would aid to this goal. Another example would be football season for all your guys and girls that live for football parties. If every Sunday there are chips, dip and beer, then next party moving forward you assure no one is to bring any of those foods but rather replace them with fruit, vegetables and alternative snacks. This will eliminate temptation and still allow you to enjoy what you love best and that is friends and football.
.
All in all, the risk is always worth it assuming the pay off is of more value than staying in your current situation. Here are some examples risks worth it: weight loss, new business, meeting a new friends, learning a new hobby, trying a new sport, trying a new gym assuming your current one is not helping you achieve your goals or even starting a new workout routine. If you get out of your comfort zone, you could fail, but who cares. At least you tried and not many people can say they tried.
.
Now, go be BRAVE, BOLD and RISK YOUR COMFORT ZONE!
.
Our Daily 3 Pillars:
– Fitness (15 minutes): We will use HIIT (hight intensity interval training) as our vehicle to increase our fitness and get a better bang for our buck. Don’t be surprised when results start showing up faster than normal.
– Quiet time (5 minutes): Some call this meditation, prayer time or times of gratitude. This is where we pause from all the rat racing and allow for peace to enter.
– Personal Investment (10 minutes): Personal development. This is you investing in you. Whether its reading, listening to a podcast, listening or sitting a reading a book (I’ll list a few of my favorites below).
.
TODAY’S WOD – (Day 24)
